So far, some people have returned to work without problems, people are praying and marriages are happening, but the institutions responsible for health are alerting everyone to be alert, so if a patient showing symptoms of Marburg appears in a certain event or meeting, he will be quarantined in the planned place. He is tested to confirm whether he has the virus.
If the tests confirm that the participant has the virus, he will be immediately taken to the Marburg virus treatment center and all contacts will be quarantined for 21 days.
The statistics published by the Ministry of Health on October 18, 2024, show that out of 4612 measurements taken, there are 62 cases of the disease, 15 deaths, 44 recoveries while only three are still sick.
Rwanda is also continuing its immunization activities where more than 1032 people have been vaccinated.
Regarding Marburg, the WHO says that currently, measures to prevent travel and trade are not productive and are not necessary to control the Marburg epidemic in Rwanda and may affect the population and the economy.
Rwanda continues to demonstrate that the measures put in place to deal with this epidemic are yielding results and the Ministry of Health is giving confidence that it may be out of control soon.
Symptoms of Marburg include high fever, headache, muscle aches, vomiting blood, bloody diarrhea and fatigue.
